Things NTs Think Are Rude That Are Actually Just Efficient
Neurotypicals have created a whole social rulebook full of arbitrary nonsense and then get offended when we skip the filler. Here's what's "rude" apparently:
Not saying "hi, how are you?" before getting to the point You asked me a question. I answered it. Transaction complete. Why do we need a warm-up lap?
Leaving when you're done socializing My battery is at 3%. I'm not "storming off." I'm preserving what's left of my sanity. You should be thanking me—you do NOT want to see me at 0%.
Not looking excited enough My face doesn't perform on command. I can be genuinely happy and still look like I'm solving a math problem. The enthusiasm is internal.
Saying "no" without a lengthy excuse "No" is a complete sentence. I'm not going to invent a fake dentist appointment to make YOU feel better about MY boundary.
Not responding to texts immediately I saw it. I'll respond when I have the energy to do it properly. This is actually RESPECTFUL.
Answering the literal question you asked "Do you like my haircut?" You asked. I answered. Don't crowdsource validation if you don't want data.
The truth: We're not rude. We're just skipping the performance. You're welcome.
