You're Not Broken. The System's Just Mid.

Real talk: Society's "normal pace" is a complete fiction.

It's based on this fantasy that everyone shows up with:

  • The same battery level every single day
  • Cookie-cutter brain processing (congrats, you're neurotypical!)
  • Zero health conditions that might, idk, exist
  • Life circumstances that conveniently never require adaptation

But here's what's actually real:

Some of us enter hyperfocus god-mode for 12 hours straight, then need 3 days minimum to remember what food is. Some of us have invisible chronic conditions that don't give a damn about your calendar invite or your "urgent" deadline. Some of us process information completely differently and produce 10x better results when we're not forced into someone else's arbitrary timeline.

The system wasn't designed for variance. It was designed for "average" - and then had the audacity to rebrand everything else as disorder.

But here's the thing they don't want you to realize: moving at your own pace isn't failure. It's optimization.

Your brain isn't broken because it works differently. The 9-to-5, neurotypical-supremacy, one-size-fits-all bullshit is broken. You're just refusing to gaslight yourself into pretending it works.

So yeah - work when your brain works. Rest when you need to rest. Stop apologizing for existing in a body and brain that doesn't conform to someone else's productivity fantasy.

That's not "low functioning." That's playing to your actual strengths instead of burning out trying to cosplay as neurotypical.
